A Quote and Thoughts, December 2009

"Endurance is frequently a form of indecision." - Elizabeth Bibesco, Haven, 1951

Looking for more thoughts on indecision, I found this on a Wikipedia page regarding Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard (1813-1855):
"Because actions constitute the manner in which something is deemed good or bad, one must be constantly conscious of the potential consequences of his actions. Kierkegaard believed that the choice for goodness came down to each individual. Unfortunately, most people do not choose. As a result, humanity will continue to relegate itself to self-imposed immaturity, thus living in both stunned apathy and agonizing inertia." (Italics mine.)

Quotes I Found and Liked: November 2009

Nobody really listens to anyone else, and if you try it for a while you'll see why.

From the Neurotic's Notebook, Mignon McLaughlin, American journalist and author. This was the first time I remember hearing of this author. This thought can be applied to blogs and bloggers certainly!

"A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone." - Henry David Thoreau

“Whatever we worship, short of God, is sure to be our undoing." - Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic's Notebook, 1960

Tipping Point

When more of the blogs I read are written by friends or family instead of popular or interesting bloggers, I thought it was time to go ahead and finish this blog set-up. Don't expect anything exciting. At this point, it just seems the most convenient starting place for me when I decide to spend time catching up on those blogs and exploring new ones.

So, I may or may not post my own writing. Especially since I read that pictures are a must for an interesting blog, and I don't have a digital camera to easily add my spicy photos to a blog. Maybe that's a good thing!
